Squid Attack!

Posted in General News by Michelle on March 28, 2008

One of the reasons why I really enjoy both Yahoo and BBC’s science headlines is because they never fail to provide inspiration for some cheesy B-horror/thriller flick. Check it out: squid beaks! Yeah, sure this’ll lead to medicine or whatnot, but this is the part that interests me most:

“Squids can be aggressive, whimsical, suddenly mean, and they are always hungry,” Waite said. “You wouldn’t want to be diving next to one. A dozen of them could eat you, or really hurt you a lot.”

I’ve resisted blogging for a long time, citing all manners of excuses until my former roommate finally wore me down with some pretty solid logic. I spend most of my days writing about finance, so this blog lets me write about what I want to write about.

Random recent thoughts:

-The founders of Television Without Pity and TwoP recapper Miss Alli left the site this month: Quite simply – these guys rock. It sucks they’re leaving, but congrats to them. Can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.

-Korean “rap” band ‘Big Bang’: Ha. Right. Rap. If you took NSync and the boy bands of the 90s and sent them to Korea, you’d get this group. They’re not breaking musical ground, but their video ‘Last Farewell’ may be one of the funniest I’ve seen recently.

-Say what, Joss Whedon is doing a MUSICAL?! With Nathan ‘Capt. Tightpants’ Fillion? And Neil Patrick Harris plays a character named ‘Dr. Horrible’? Awesome.

-Several months ago, I had a peanut butter sandwich, followed by a banana. (Be patient, it might get more interesting.) This brought on an ephiphany. What if I combined the two in one? So I did. And it was awesome. And I’m having it again tomorrow. Alright, so it didn’t get more interesting. But it’s still yummy!
