Busted!

May 6, 2008 · 5 Comments

I’m all for trying to do your part in conservationism, but I get a cheap thrill when  celebrities who claim to be environmentally friendly get busted. I’m sure the article plays up the facts, but it’s still pretty amusing.  Come on guys, put your money where your mouth is. If Radiohead can do it, so can you.

I’m not sure I agree with all the finger pointing at celebrities and their non-green ways. Not that I am a huge supporter of their habits, but there are certain reasons that us normal people cannot imagine which should be factored in. For instance, what if Barbara Streisand has some sort of skin condition that requires her to use a clean towel every time? And considering the celebrity status of Brangelina, getting mobbed for autographs on a public plane may not be an option (especially since they have so many kids). See? As sarcastic as I may sound, I actually believe it.

I considered that point, but then I thought - learn how to don disguises? I don’t believe celebrities are entitled to special treatment, while I don’t begrudge them using their private jets. I just think there should be a little more transparency about such things, no?

Let people do what they can do.

Remember, you are not being treated like a celebrity. That makes you special, in some way.

    Yeah I guess I wouldn’t like to be Gawker-stalked.

But tis the price you pay for being a movie star in this day and age. And being a movie star and being an actor are not mutually exclusive.

I want gawker to write about me, but I’m not that interesting yet :)
