My parents have been on my case about getting together an earthquake survival kit since I moved to California. And I’ve been totally lazy about it, operating under the premise “Well they say it can happen, but can it really?”
The magnitude of the natural disasters in Myamar and China is extremely unsettling and finally spurring me to develop a kit. Well, that and my fears of apocalyptic doom. But hey, if you’re going to create a survival kit, you might as well mix in some fun things right? Here’s the beginnings of my future kit:
-Gallons of Water
-First Aid Kit
-Perishable Food Items
-Flashlight + Extra Batteries
-Radio
-Swiss Army Knife
-Machete
-Stress Ball
-Swatches of Fabric
-Matches
-CHOCOLATE and gum
-Toilet Paper
-Toothbrush
-Soap
-Compass
-Rope
-Nail-cutters. No, seriously.
-A book (Hey, you never know!)
What things would you take?

To relieve stress
Hey man, if the end of the world is coming, might as well chill out.

A machete seems like over-kill, unless it’s intended also for self-defense :D. I would take a swiss-army knife and if you really had the money, a satellite phone w/ gps.

A satellite phone is a good idea. I don’t know a lot about the tech of them, but can they operate when all the electronic equipment on Earth blitzes?
As for crack - you’re operating under the assumption that at the end of the world, the crack addicts will survive. Which, actually is not outside the realm of possibility. I should really include that tidbit in a novel or something.
