Movin’ on…Up? Sideways? Everywhere?

Posted in Uncategorized by Michelle on July 29, 2009

The social media landscape is complicated, right? And what better way to make it even more so by posting your thoughts in 3 different places?

Starting today, I will officially migrate my personal/random thoughts to my new Tumblr blog. This is because I can link it to Twitter more easily from Tumblr, streamlining the process.

The wordpress blog, which I do love, will remain a place for detailed/through aka longer random thoughts on media/entertainment with more TV/movie recaps/projects.  I will link to new wordpress blogs from Tumblr.

The end result (I hope) is more frequent blogging (via Tumblr) and a place where I can air focused (HAH!) thoughts on tv/movies.

Still with me? Awesome. Here’s the link:

Yosemite

Posted in Uncategorized by Michelle on July 20, 2009

After  a 3-day weekend in Yosemite, it feels a little weird to be back in civilization again, to be able to Tweet and blog and have reception again. That being said and despite all of the fun of camping, never have I enjoyed a shower as much as I have after this trip.

Here’s one of my fave pics so far – we hiked up to Nevada Falls (feat. in the picture) and this was the view on our hike down (More to follow on Flickr):

C4 Levels of Technicolor in Asian pop

Posted in Uncategorized by Michelle on June 23, 2009

So here’s the thing about Asian pop. I don’t follow it as regularly as Matt or Toro but damn, do I love it and need it every now and then like a recover addict crawling on all knees for that one drag. (I do not include awesome Asian rock bands like Asian Kung-Fu Generation as part of this Asian pop genre).

And this is why: Despite the diversity of music genres I listen to, they tend not to be ridiculous – a little emotive sometimes, a little angsty occasionally. But no genre can fulfill the part of me that derives pure joy from seeing the absolutely ridiuclous better than the Asian pop scene.

Can something like THIS, which looks like a technicolor explosion of C4 levels, exist stateside?

Hehehehe.

Conversations with Suz: Post-Turkey Edition

Posted in Uncategorized by Michelle on June 20, 2009

How you know you’ve known each other for far too long:

Suz: Do you want to see the scrapbook I’m making?
Me: Sure.
Suz: You have to get up and see it
Me: I don’t want to.
Suz: If you don’t move, that’s how you’ll get fat.
Me: *Cackles hysterically*

The evolution of Suz’s experience being a dog owner:

Suz (to dog): What are you eating? Why are you so dumb.
Me: Did you feed her this morning?
Suz: Sort of.
Me: Did you feed her?
Suz: Who cares.

COACHELLA 2009.

Posted in Music, Uncategorized by Michelle on May 25, 2009

It’s been a solid month since I returned from Coachella 2009, and it feels like it was forever ago. It was the first multi-day music festival I’ve ever been to, and I now better understand why people do this year after year after year.

What. A. Drug. (And I mean that not beyond the massive amount of weed/drug use prevalent there).

Being bombarded with music for 2 days straight? In the lovely desert heat? Like living in a bubble for a brief respite where life is just going to be damn fine, everybody.

Daily recaps after the jump, photos on Flickr.

Really excited about this show, which premieres tonight. Martin was one of my faves back in the day when he was on the Daily Show.
