Musicals + Neil Patrick Harris = Good Times
In honor of Dr. Horrible, Joss Whedon’s musical webisodes running this week, here’s an interview with the How I Mother Cast where Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel (of Freaks & Geeks too) recreate that oh-so-classic Les Miserables moment:
An Inside Look at Writers’ Rooms
I have a tremendous respect for writers because writing well is probably the hardest, most underrated aspect of the filmmaking process. And while I think they are incredibly lucky to have the jobs that they do, writers are, very often, rather kooky sorts who get the short end of the stick when it comes to their piece of the Hollywood pie.
This NYTimes article spotlights the writers’ rooms at TV shows include House, Weeds, Flight of the Conchords, and How I Met Your Mother. Except for that part where you’re under massive pressure to come up with something compelling/funny, sounds fun, no?
TV Snobs
According to Tim Goodman of the SF Chronicle, I am a TV Snob. I could rebuttal with a long list of TV shows that would absolutely defy his theory, but some of them even make me a little sheepish. So I refer you to Linda Holmes’ fantastic answer on her “Things What Things” blog.
Word, NPH, Word.
Couldn’t agree more with Neil Patrick Harris’ assessment of Spears’ guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother:
