Becoming a Pseudoreality TV Star Could Net You $1.5 Mil/Yr.
Forbes released their annual Celebrity 100 List. In the grand scheme of things, it’s trivial yes blargh blargh blargh, but there are some rankings that made me go, “Whaa?” Apparently, Radar Magazine’s confused about some of it too. But the most depressing part is that Lauren Conrad of the Hills ranked No. 97 and makes about $1.5 mil./year while Tina Fey, who makes arguably one of the best comedy half-hours on TV currently, ranked No. 99. I’m a little biased as Tina Fey is my hero and I have never seen The Hills. But still…
Well Done, MTV, Well Done.
Ok, MTV. I know you’re getting a lot of crap these days, what with traditionalists decrying the last of good music videos and the like. I don’t watch enough music videos to weigh in on that, but I will say this:
You did good about The Paper.
If it hadn’t been for Things What Things or Low Resolution, I never would have even heard about this reality show about a group of high school students on the school paper. Well, see for yourself because MTV has full episodes online. There are 8 total so for about 3.5 hours or so, enjoy all the cringe-inducing, pseudo-reality that is high school.
